    Default Nervous Cells

I've been trying to find the answer to this without success.
Does every Cutaneous receptor have it's own link to the brain, or are the signals combined and encoded somehow? And what would one research for the answer?
    Thanks in advance,

I would like to add few comments here regarding the nerve cells. when the cell is stimulated at one point on its plasma membrane layer, the excitability or impulse then moves along the plasma membrane layer like a ripple on a pond. Thus the excitability spreads and is often known as a nerve impulse.
